Here’s the latest instalment in my Advent music video series! video series! Advent music is amazing. The depth of lyrics, the beautiful melodies… yeah. I love it! Come, O Long Expected Jesus is one of those incredible hymns.
In this video it’s five of me singing, plus a piano track (though I combined the footage in a more traditional way… 😆).
Advent hymns are among my favourite Christian songs sung during the year. “O Come Divine Messiah” is very high on my list of great hymns and I had a lot of fun putting this together!
This a cappella choir is, well, me. Times four. I used some compositing and masking techniques in Final Cut Pro X to blend together my performances, recorded at different angles. I hope you enjoy the result!
No, I’m not a quintuplet. :) But I did have a lot of fun with this one!
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence is one of my favourite hymns, with a hauntingly beautiful, 17th century French melody (“Picardy”). The words are from a prayer written in the 4th/5th century.
I hope you enjoy this rendition! Or at least are slightly amused by my attempt at creating a composite choir. 😆
