This is a more simple, vulnerable video for today: just me, a microphone, and a piano, singing to the Creator the stars of night.
(In the cold Canadian winter. 🥶)
The MP3 can be downloaded here.
This 9th century chant is hauntingly beautiful in its noble simplicity and depth of meaning. For example:
“Thou grieving at the bitter cry,
Of all creation doomed to die,
Didst come to save a ruined race,
With healing gifts of heav’nly grace.
Thou camest, Bridegroom of the Bride,
As drew the world to ev’ningtide,
Proceeding from a Virgin shrine,
The Son of Man, yet Lord Divine.”
How amazing is it that we have a Saviour?! Come, Lord Jesus!
