This May I’ve been enormously blessed to be on an “Off the Beaten Path” pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel with Lino Rulli from SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel (ch. 129) and a fun group of pilgrims.
Here is my homily from the final Mass on this pilgrimage, given at St. Peter’s Church in Jaffa.
Readings: Zechariah 8.20-23; Psalm 19; Acts 11.1-18; Matthew 28.16-20

Here is the homily given at the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem, otherwise known as the Co-Cathedral of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. The Mass was simply the Mass of the day (Wednesday of the 6th week of Easter), and — this seems to be a theme — we were a little pressed for time due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore the homily is a little short. (And there was much rejoicing. 😆)
The readings can be found here. (usccb.org)

Here is the homily given at the site of the home of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha in Bethany. The gospel was from John 11.1-43, which is the raising of Lazarus.
You’ll likely notice something sort of strange with this homily… the nearby mosque had *just* begun the call to prayer as I was wrapping up the gospel, and this continued through most of the homily. Hopefully you enjoy the musical accompaniment. :)

Here is the first homily given on this pilgrimage at Mount Nebo, where Moses was shown the Promised Land (see Deuteronomy 34, which was also the first reading at this Mass).

Here is the Sunday homily given at the ancient site of Petra in Jordan. This is quite simply one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever seen. (As you’ll likely gather from the brief homily, Mass was kept relatively short as we had just hiked for a couple of hours.)
Readings: Acts 10.25-26,34-35,44-48; Psalm 98; 1 John 4.7-10; John 15.9-17 (see the readings at usccb.org.
Here are some photos from Petra (click to enlarge). Yes, I rode a camel. 😆
