Homily from Apr. 10 (Good Friday): You Were On The Cross

Here is my homily from Apr. 10, 2020, Good Friday. I'm not going to lie; this brief homily was definitely far more raw for me than my usual fare. See the readings at usccb.org. Here is the live stream of this Mass celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish (skip ahead to approx. 10 minutes 45 seconds): And here is Matt Maher's song, You Were On The Cross.

Homily from Mar. 22, 2020: The Lord is My Shepherd

Here is my homily from Mar. 22, 2020, 4th Sunday of Lent, Year A. Readings: Exodus 17.3-7; Psalm 95; Romans 5.1-2,5-8; John 9.1,6-9,13-17,34-38 (See the readings at usccb.org.) COVID-19 has made this a pretty unprecedented moment in living memory. Let's all pray for each other, and also follow the directives of health care professionals. Here is the live stream of this Mass celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish: Act of Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire You in my soul. Since I can not now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You were already there, I embrace You and unite myself wholly to You; permit not that I should ever be separated from You. Amen.
