Final Homily from Holy Spirit Parish (July 25, 2021): Seek Holiness.

Here is my final Sunday homily from Holy Spirit Parish in Saskatoon. It's been an incredible 6+ years and I will miss this parish very much. This homily was recorded on Saturday evening (July 24) for the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B. See the readings at usccb.org.

Homily from June 27, 2021: Arise

I realize anything I say concerning the horrible things endured by our Indigenous brothers and sisters in Canada will be woefully inadequate. I am sorry. I have much to learn and penance to undertake. Let's keep each other in prayer. Meekly, here is my homily from the Mass for the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B, celebrated at Holy Spirit Parish on June 27, 2021. See the readings at usccb.org. Homily from Mass of Hope and Healing (June 16, 2021): See, I am making all things new

We have all been through a lot during the past year and a half. On July 16 at Holy Spirit Parish we celebrated a special Mass and time of Adoration, approaching the Lord Jesus for his gifts of hope and healing. Here is my homily from that Mass. I preached mainly on the first reading: Revelation 21.1-5a.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.’ And the one who was seated on the throne said, ‘See, I am making all things new.’ Revelation 21.1-5a from New Revised Standard Version Bible, copyright © 1989 National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States of America.
