I set up the camera to record a time lapse of the incredible northern lights on Nov. 11, 2025. Nearly 800 frames later, I am seriously blown away. Enjoy!!! #auroraborealis #northernlights #exploresask #nightsky #astrophotography Tech details: 8 second exposures played back at ~12.5 fps. Each frame had a slight bit of contrast adjustment and lens optimization in Lightroom. They were batch exported as jpeg frames, then imported into Final Cut Pro where I cropped to 16x9 and added the title+music. My old MacBook Air hung in there. 😅 Each frame was captured in RAW by my Canon EOS R and Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens. An intervalometer was used to time the exposures. This was a STUNNING evening in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada! Each frame was only 2.5 seconds of exposure, which highlights just how intense the northern lights (aurora) was this evening. I see that people as far south as Arizona also saw this show! My studies have been keeping me super busy, but I thought I was well overdue in making another music video! Here is another one of my favourite hymns of praise sung in our Catholic churches: All People That On Earth Do Dwell. The text is based on Psalm 100 and was written by William Kethe (d. 1594). The music is "Old One Hundredth," written by Louis Bourgeois (d. 1561) And yes, that's me times five. :-) Compositing was done in Final Cut Pro X. Music was produced in Logic Pro X. Enjoy! ALL PEOPLE THAT ON EARTH DO DWELL - Priest Choir
Let everything praise the Lord - including, as is said in Daniel 3:70, ice and snow. And also the aurora borealis (northern lights). This ancient hymn is one of my favourites! It was a beautiful, albeit frigid day at Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan (-35ºC / -31ºF windchills). The song is based from the ancient, 4th century hymn Te Deum Laudamus. I had fun producing this music video (and using some split-screen choir trickery at the same time). I hope you enjoy it! Please let me know below which song I should record next. Holy God, we praise thy name. Lord of all, we bow before thee. All on earth thy scepter claim; all in heav’n above adore thee. Infinite thy vast domain, everlasting is thy reign. One of the greatest sport themes was the old 1987-1994 CFL on CBC theme. Unfortunately this theme seems to be unavailable in all of its original glory, save for somewhat grainy captures from a vintage VCR. Here is my cover version.
