We’d love to have you at Mass! Mass times at Holy Spirit Parish in the summer are: Saturday, 5pm; Sunday, 10am, 12 noon, and 7pm.
I just wrote you a lovely long response to your homily…and it got lost when I clicked submit button. the devil took it.
In that I said you should scrap your formal homiletic style because it doesn’t allow your SPIRIT to come out. You aren’t shaking anybody up. Your REAL commitment is not coming through. Your voice remains in your larynx and never gets down to your chest where your heart is. Jesus didn’t talk like that. He let his HEART out. I think you should do the same. Make some bullet points, and just wing it. Your present style smacks too much of what Pope Francis calls clericalism, the career priest. The theology was right on, and the talk was presented with great care, and good preparation. But it is not particularly moving. It’s inside the box. The GOD/MAN wasn’t afraid to step outside the box. He wasn’t afraid of being rejected…because many more would accept him.
